See the Color on Your Walls Before You Choose It

A paint chip the size of a stamp tells you very little. We put large samples on your own walls and look at them in daylight and under your lamps.

The Same White Reads Differently in Every Room

A white that looks warm in a kitchen facing west can look gray in a hall facing north. That’s why McDermaid Restoration & Remodeling includes color consultation with every painting project for Peninsula homeowners. As a Fine Paints of Europe Master Certified contractor, we have access to proprietary FPE palettes unavailable through standard contractors. Call (650) 961-7415.

How a Color Gets Chosen

Neutral paint color cards and a sketchbook laid over navy and gold patterned tiles

Step 1 of 4: Initial Consultation

  1. We walk the house with you, talk about what you like, and note which way each room faces.

  2. Large samples go up in several rooms, or on more than one side of the house.

  3. We look at them in morning light, in afternoon light and at night with the lamps on.

  4. The colors are written down, room by room, before any painting starts.
