At McDermaid Restoration & Remodeling, privacy is a baseline, not a feature. Many of our clients are high-profile individuals, estate managers, and family offices who require absolute discretion. Our no-photos policy exists because we believe the homes we work on belong to our clients, not to our marketing department.

Why We Have This Policy

A photograph of a home's interior reveals personal taste, family life, and security details that our clients have every right to keep private. As the industry has shifted to Instagram portfolios and before/after posts, we've chosen not to follow. We grow through referrals, not by showcasing clients' homes.

It's a values position, not a marketing one: when you hire McDermaid, your home stays yours.

Our Track Record

Since 1992, we have never maintained a social media presence. Not Instagram, not Facebook, not any platform. This is intentional and permanent.

Our Specific Commitments

Privacy Commitments

No Photos Without Written Permission

We do not photograph client properties at any stage (before, during, or after) without a signed release. This includes crew members' personal phones. Want photos for your own records? See below.

No Social Media, Ever

McDermaid does not maintain accounts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, or any other social platform. You will not find project photos, team photos or company updates from us anywhere online.

No Portfolio Use Without Permission

Client projects do not appear in our website portfolio, printed materials, or verbal references to prospective clients without explicit consent. Our portfolio section shows only projects where clients have provided written permission.

No Discussion of Client Properties

Our crews are trained that client properties, their contents, and their owners are never topics of conversation outside of work. That applies at every level: what happens on your property stays there.

Written Documentation Instead of Photos

For insurance, warranty, or estate records, we provide comprehensive written documentation including scope descriptions, product specifications, application records, and a written completion summary. If your insurer requires visual documentation, we coordinate with them directly to provide exactly what's needed, nothing more.

If You Want Photos

For your own records, insurance files or estate management, we'll photograph under a signed agreement specifying what is captured, who can access the images, and that they will never be used for anything else.

If you have privacy requirements beyond our standard policy (NDA requirements, security team protocols, estate manager coordination), we handle these routinely. Contact us to discuss your specific needs before a project begins.

"Our business grows through referrals from satisfied clients, not by showcasing their homes to attract new ones."
